workshop details
During the workshop Janna’s aim will be to help you develop your ideas for a 3-dimensional form and, in the course of the 2 days, instruct you in its construction.
You must come to the workshop with ideas of what you would like to build. Your sculpture may be representational or completely abstract.
Choose something that is sympathetic to the limitations of the building material.
Come with sketches, photos or models of forms and/or images that inspire you. If you have only sketches, it may be useful to start working your ideas out in a small scale model before starting the larger sculpture.
Extra reference material may be necessary if you wish to depict a well know form.
Most of the lecturing and demonstration will occur during the morning of day one – participants will begin their sculpture once this is completed.
Over the weekend Janna will spend time with each person individually, to direct them further along the way of construction to completion.
